About this blog

First, I’ll tell you all the things I’m not going to do on this blog. If you’re interested in any of the following and have inadvertently wandered onto this page when what you really wanted was larger breasts (either to own, to look at or to play with) you can safely click away now to the vast multitude of other sites that can service your needs.

I will not:

  • Tell you how to make money – if innumerable other web-space offerings haven’t managed to work this one out for you then I certainly can’t help. My conclusion is that the best way to guarantee making money is to become an expert in telling other people how to make money. Also interesting is how much time and money many people spend in the pursuit of making money and freeing up time… unfortunately I cannot exclude myself from this pitiful group.
  • Tell you how to sort your life out – no one really has their life sorted out, the world is just split into those that pretend they do and those that admit they don’t. I prefer the latter but am unfortunately more like the former.
  • Tell you how to get a girlfriend / how to service your carnal needs in the absence of a girlfriend – this is what 95% of the internet is for.
  • Tell you how to do anything in 10 ways/7 steps/3 golden rules.
  • Try to use this blog as a way of making money and to ‘fulfill my dream of working from home’. I’m not sure I understand the attraction of working from home, it sounds like a recipe for depression and certainly beyond my limited willpower.
  • Try to sell you anything.
  • Write in a dumbed-down, patronising style like I’m your old buddy sending you a dirty text… I’m not.
  • Do a bunch of other things that are irritating and condescending to you the reader but the specifics of which I can’t think of currently.

However I will try to write things that are interesting to provide a stimulating diversion from the daily grind and the ritual obsession with doing/making/achieving more. If I can provoke a new thought or inspire a change in perception in even one person I’ll be a happy man.

I have no agenda, all I am interested in is to understand the world without prejudice. This inevitably involves the challenging of perceived wisdom but I will always justify it through logical argument. Whether you choose to agree with it is up to you, all I ask is that you are open enough to listen. While I will not actively look to be controversial, challenging people’s assumptions inevitably causes offence; I do not apologise for this.

Other than my gender, and the fact that I’m from London (the one in England) I’ll be keeping my anonymity for no more exciting reason than it makes it easier to be honest and I want that to be central to everything I write. I will not be projecting the mask that I, and most others, wear on a daily basis.

If at any time I give the impression that I’m not upholding this principle, please feel free to abuse me with much vitriol in the comments. Otherwise, I’d be grateful if you can refrain.

I hope you enjoy the read and welcome your challenging responses, thanks for taking the time. [Now probably best for you to go and do something fun that doesn’t involve the internet, you’ll like yourself more afterwards.]
